In Stroud

So we eventually picked up my brother Blair from Heathrow (had to get up at 4.30am to get to Heathrow on time, stressing all the way and making Scott laugh by charging along the corridors every time we had to change tube line). Then we took the bus to Stroud to chill out with Gail and John (my aunt and uncle) for a few days before heading off on the Grand Relative Tour......

A few photos here of the Meningitis Walk that Gail and John help run - Blair and I helped all day (note the spiffing t-shirts) and Scott did the walk with my cousins - about 35km in 6 hours, they complained for days! Was a good fun day, but lots of work! Also a photo of a dinner with Gail and John, my cousins Dave and James, Dave's wife Kelly and their sons Frankie and Ashton.... phew! Made them all eat veggie stuff too!

Blair looking a bit jet-lagged... and me with my cousin's little baby, Ashton (second cousin I think?)... and John also with Ashton, being a proud Grandpa

England Finally!!!! London Town....

Yay, finally my blogging attempt has reached England! So, we got to England on September 13th and spent a week running around sorting out stuff for India - visas, injections, etc as well as being slightly cultural and going to see the National Art Gallery and British Museum. Had some fun nights with Scott's mates met up with some of mine too - we were probably more busy than when we were working in Ireland! Much more fun though! London was quite a shock after Galway - so many people and pushing and taxis and buses and noise! I couldn't live there! Disturbing thing was that we went for a curry in Brick lane with Christina (she was in London for a few days too) and the street is full of curry places with touts coming out to try to get you to come in and offer you deals - it was good but I found that quite full on so I'm not sure how I'll go in India! I guess we'll see! At the tube stop (woohoo!) with Kate and Lu - we hung round and went out for dinner and went to some markets and caught up - twas lovely to see them both again! Poor Scott got dragged into the girly thing - although he took this great photo of Lu and I laughing and Kate - always poised!
Matt and Cesira, Scott's friends who put us up in London and who we had some fun nights with!
Scott and I all dressed up for the town - we went out to see Les Miserables in London's West End - ooh la la, how posh! Lucky you can't see our shoes - the rest of us is all nice but we only had walking shoes to wear! He he we had fun anyway :)

Lu and Kate and I again, all looking better this time - aw, aren't we pretty?

Visiting Charlie

Still in Ireland here - I know I am abysmally behind with my blog entries, but I'm trying! At least you have no idea where the next blog will be of, because it definitely won't be of our current location! These are some pictures from our night staying with my parents' incredibly daft friend Charlie (and dog Ben), who live in a tiny country village in Ireland. He showed us round his discoveries - new pieces of archaeological knowledge which seem really interesting but apparently no one in the archaeology community will take him seriously. Also met some of the Irish locals at the pub and had good craic!
